Lynsey invited us back to take part in the
Victorian Christmas event at the Workhouse in Southwell.
It was a lovely night which included carols
from a Brass ensemble, the pauper choir,
storytelling, craft activities
and a Punch & Judy show.
Lynsey sent me a copy of this cutting from The Southwell Advertiser...
The girls loved dressing up as pauper children again,
and had a great time singing with the choir
and joining in the festivities!
In true workhouse style, I made them earn their keep too - helping me to set up my stall, and handing out change to the customers.
Nikki from A Fly Went By had her stall next to mine -
if you happen to be in Southwell anytime soon,
you should check out her lovely shop.
She has some gorgeous goodies and she even stocks
Both girls made these lovely little rag dolls in the craft room.
Thanks again to Lynsey for inviting us along,
and you can have a peek at some much better photos of us
on the NTWorkhouse page.
(These were all taken on my phone, which is pretty rubbish in low light)
Finally,a snippet of the choir singing Away in A Manger.
(Filmed too on said phone!)
